How Did The Kingfisher Get Its Name ?
We would heard of the name of Kingfisher in many fields may it be alcoholic drinks, airplanes or even birds. But does any one of you know why it got the name Kingfisher? Basically there are three types of kingfishers- River, Tree and Water Kingfishers and their main food is fishes. These birds have circular discs on their wings which are colorful and shiny. When they go to catch their prey they always go towards the prey and when they do that those rings get projected on the surface. So the prey thinks those projections are their foods and they come out to take it. When they do that the kingfisher catches them and eats them. This is certainly a new type of catching their prey. Also it has a crown on its head which symbolized that it is a king. And since it feeds on fishes, it is called the king of fishes. That is how the Kingfisher got its name.

Why Is The Keyboard Not Arranged In Alphabetical Order ?
This is something that all of us would have thought about is why are the letters not alphabetically arranged? Initially in 1860s, the characters on the typewriters were arranged in alphabetical order; Letters that placed close together on the keyboard became tangled with one another, forcing the typist to manually unstick the type bars. This also caused staining the document frequently and jams in typewriter machine. Then after thinking about it for a long time ,an associate suggested using nice trick by splitting most commonly keys to speed up typing, so that they also don't get tangled very often. Rearrangement of keys introduced the word QWERTY, the most commonly used modern-day keyboard layout. This is the reason why the keyboard is not arranged in alphabetical order.

How Did The Word Hello Originate ?
When you get a call from someone, what is the first word you say? Its Hello. Have you ever wondered why is said that way? The use of hello as a telephone greeting has been credited to Thomas Edison; according to one source, he expressed his surprise with a misheard Hullo. Alexander Graham Bell initially used Ahoy (as used on ships) as a telephone greeting. However, in 1877, Edison wrote to T.B.A. David, the president of the Central District and Printing Telegraph Company of Pittsburgh:
Friend David, I do not think we shall need a call bell as Hello! can be heard 10 to 20 feet away. What you think? Edison - P.S. first cost of sender & receiver to manufacture is only $7.00.
By 1889, central telephone exchange operators were known as 'hello-girls' due to the association between the greeting and the telephone.

How Did The Word Godown Originate ?
Godown is basically a warehouse where all the goods are stored. But do you know why it is called such?
As we know that the Britishers used Indian slaves to transport their goods from one place to another. The Indians did not understand the Britisher's language and vice versa. This basically the conversation between the two parties :-
The worker would come and stand in front of the Britisher. Then he would get angry and say :- Hey man what are you looking at me? Go Down. And Keep the goods... So the Indians did not understand and thought that the place where they kept goods was called Go Down. This is how the word Godown originated.

Is Tomato A Fruit Or A Vegetable ?
To really figure out if a tomato is a fruit or vegetable, you need to know what makes a fruit a fruit, and a vegetable a vegetable. The confusion about 'fruit' and 'vegetable' arises because of the differences in usage between scientists and cooks. Scientifically speaking, a tomato is definitely a fruit. True fruits are developed from the ovary in the base of the flower, and contain the seeds of the plant
Hope you enjoyed reading my post. You can get back with any questions through the sections mentioned in the starting of the post.
As far as cooking is concerned, some things which are strictly fruits, such as tomatoes or bean pods, may be called 'vegetables' because they are used in savory rather than sweet cooking. The term 'vegetable' is more generally used of other edible parts of plants, such as cabbage leaves, celery stalks, and potato tubers, which are not strictly the fruit of the plant from which they come. Occasionally the term 'fruit' may be used to refer to a part of a plant which is not a fruit, but which is used in sweet cooking: rhubarb, for example. Therefore, a tomato is technically the fruit of the tomato plant, but it's used as a vegetable in cooking.
